I totally see a change in my body and the weight is dropping off!
Sep 7 2009

My life has been changed for the better since leaving DYAO. I am constantly aware of my food choices and I exercise regularly. When I first got home it was very hard for me to stay focused and stay on track with my daily caloric food intake. I also developed a strong love for Kettle Corn!!!!! This is the one food that I must have all the time. I'm trying very hard now to only have it in moderation. Since leaving, I exercise at least 5 times a week consistently. I have lost a total of 45 pounds and I want to meet my first goal of 60 pounds lost by next month and I know I can do it. My weight loss process has been considerably slower than the other contestants because of my age and the fact that I am a Type 2 Diabetic. When I arrived home I contacted my doctor who showed me the adverse affects of what can happen to a person with uncontrolled Diabetes. This also changed my life and allowed me to really put into perspective how serious my disease was. I really didn't get this point on the show. Also I have been using a low glycemic food program for Diabetics that has helped with my weight loss. If you know me, you know that I hate working out but I do it because I have to. I found a great place to work out that allows me to only workout for 45 mins and gets the job done. It’s called Crossfit Hollywood!!!!!! I love it! It’s boot camp to the 10th power. Pull ups, push ups, sit ups, wall balls, etc. It’s total Army Navy Seals type of training and guess what? I can do it. I totally see a change in my body and the weight is dropping off!!!!!

I agree with you, that tango deserved a 10!!! It is by far the most memborable dance from the show and I continue to watch your tango whenever I want to watch something beautiful when I feel down!!That dance was just so beautiful and you did such a awesome job of it. I have not watched the show since you were eliminated. You look great keep up the good work!

Your dancing was wonderful, precise steps and body movement, but success with your Diabetes more inspirational. I, too, struggle, and need the glycemic look at what I eat. I even use a substitute protein powder for pre-diabetics, with increased chromium. I'm older and find others who have not eaten healthily and easily developed pre-Diabetic traits, even when not familial history. Thanks for sharing all that you have, and to continued good health.

I am so happy that you spoke out about the score you were given by the judges. You were not suppose to be eliminated you did on both of your routines that night. However you were just a pawn to keep Alicia on the show. Oh well you lost weight and you look great...keep it up.

thank you for being honest you were cheated out of a perfect 10 but don't let that stop you because perfection does not stop after the lights go down perfection is what you have shown tome you could have stopped after your health improved but you've inspired even my daughter who is only 52lb/ that weight is irralevent but being healthy is most importantant

I can understand you feel that you have been voted off (eliminated) unfairly but everyone has a right to their opinion.
